How to Use Prose Canvas
Two Ways to Work with Prose Canvas
Prose Canvas is a versatile tool designed to streamline your document creation workflow. It allows you to:
1
Submit a Prompt
Type your request into the chat and the LLM will generate formatted content directly in the editor.
→
2
Highlight Text for Context
Highlight any text in the editor before submitting a prompt — it will be automatically appended to your prompt for added context.
Submitting Prompts
Generate Content with a Prompt
To submit a prompt, type your request into the chat. For example:
Example Prompt: "Write me an extensive overview about the Combat Medical Care in Prolonged Field Care."
The editor will populate with formatted content generated by the LLM based on your request.
Highlighting Text for Prompts
Add Context by Highlighting
When you highlight any text in the editor before submitting a prompt, that text will be automatically appended to your prompt. For example, if your prompt is:
Example Prompt: "Explain this to me:"
And you highlight "Tactical Combat Casualty Care," the full prompt becomes:
Combined Prompt: "Explain this to me: Tactical Combat Casualty Care"
After submitting your prompt, the editor will update with the generated content.
The Editor
Editor Tools & Features
The Prose Canvas editor offers a variety of tools to enhance your document creation experience:
Blue Copy Button
Copies the complete Markdown content from the editor to your clipboard.
Gray Copy Button
Copies a plain text version of the Markdown, stripping all formatting.
Undo / Redo
Reverts or restores actions performed in the editor.
Bold / Italic
Applies bold or italic formatting to highlighted text in the editor.
Bullet List
Creates a bulleted list. Cannot be used on headers. Indentation is limited — toggling the first item switches bullets on or off; toggling a child bullet adjusts its indentation level.
Numbered List
Creates an ordered list (1., 2., 3.…). Follows the same indentation rules as the bullet list.
Heading
Adjusts the heading level of highlighted text (e.g., Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.).
